I paved hundreds of miles un my 47 years in asphalt paving. The chip seal is asphalt emulsion placed hot and gravel placed and rolled in. It is to extend the life of the asphalt road. Look at it as a wear coarse, also a seal. Just don't crash a motor cycle on it. Very coarse sand paper. Thanks for sharing from an old road paver!

I live up in the north east and they use chip seal alot. It's not too bad after a few months but until then, it's very dangerous with a motorcycle. Where I am at, they would never put road signs up and it would surprise me when riding and I almost dumped two times. Please be careful!

Kevin, I think you should end your partnership with lectric bikes.. Me and my wife recently ordered 2 xpeditions and after 2 weeks my wife's display went out ..We received a replacement display, but they changed the design and the power button pad now are a separate part and they say the button pad won't ship till sometime in July ..The bike is useless setting in my garage. A bunch of us lectric bike owns are talking about a class action lawsuit..Because they don't offer any type of refunds for anything they sell ..Many people have there bikes and are waiting months for replacement parts why bike is under warranty... If your getting the impression I'm not happy, your right ..

Maybe with good consistent chiropractic care Caroline may avoid surgery. Fortunately her son in law sounds like he’s top notch. Sometimes you really have to listen when your back is talking to you and give it a rest. Hard to do when you enjoy gardening. Hope to see her back soon 🙏.

That’s what the chip and seal will look like they did it all over our town and a lot of people even in the vehicles were not happy because the rocks you can just hear the rocks hitting your vehicle constantly as you drive over it.

Yeah, thought you might be adding more fill dirt to the new pad. Guess my idea about using a level got deleted, along with possibly using road base or crusher run + fines or light cast cement. Glad for you Kevin not drinking regular soft drinks. I don't know why but they started putting phosphates in our soda..first just brown ones.. now all and even so called healthy drinks..drinking a little is good for your bones.. but now it's jumped from packaged cereal to cheap lunch meat to more expensive lunch meat to many prepared foods and now even spices for filler. It's just that if your getting loaded up on it.. it will leech your bones.. every time after eating lunch, my partner couldn't climb the stairs and blamed his shoes.. The next day the shoes were fine..I started avoiding it as much as possible and many of my aches and pains went away.

Usually a double shot chipseal on unpaved roads or alleys. At least that's what gets done here in Tucson. After chips have been settling and driven on a bit the loose chips are swept up and removed.

Hello Kevin. You may have solved your Buddy Heater problem. I have been told that the reason they recommend the filter for the heater is that the rubber type supply hose between the 20 lb cylinder and the heater has a history of slowly coming apart inside and will deposit "bits" into the filter and ruin it over time. Im a tad surprised the second one stopped in a short period of time though. I have been told that if you run it without the filter, then the hose will deposit directly into the heater and cause it to fail. Just a thought. Take care.
